2018 Ford F250 Prototype
If you missed the 2018 Ford F250 Prototype at the 2016 North Carolina International Auto Expo on Feb 11th through the 14th, I was able to take a few pictures. My goal here is not to write a full review, but to give an overview what this vehicle is about. Most of what I know are rumors, however, I can lead you to a couple sources I found.
I heard that the 2018 Ford F250 will be offered in 2 buying options: one with 6.2 L and a standard V8 gasoline, or the 6.7L Power Stroke V8 engine. As per one of the sources listed below, the starting price looks to be an estimated $32K.
Different sources say the release dates are at different times. One source indicates a late 2016 release. Another states early 2017, while yet another lists it as late 2017. Even the car specialists at the Ford section at the show were not sure when the actual release date will be. My guess is it will be released in the fall of 2017. I would not be completely surprised with a release date in the late summer of 2017.
I was directed by two members of the Ford team to check out the 2018 Ford F250 after failing to get inside the 2016 Ford Focus RS Prototype. There was nothing indicating that this truck was the 2018 Ford F250 Prototype, and in fact, there was a big display near it making it look like it was the 2017. However, I was not only reassured it was the 2018 Prototype but overheard others being told the same. Ford was not advertising it and I am not sure why. A couple other vehicles were unfortunately locked because they came from Europe – the Focus RS being one of them. I wondered if that was the case with the F250. Unfortunately, I was unable to acquire an answer before the end of the day.

Here are a couple of sites that I recommend checking out if you are interested in finding out more about this vehicle’s specifications. They are same sources I used for some of the information already shared in this post.
